On Airplane, do not turn off the AC vent

According to an expert, an air vent will not make you sick but saves you from getting sick. When you board a flight, you may notice that most passengers are afraid to open the air vent of a flight.

According to an expert, an air vent will not make you sick but saves you from getting sick. When you board a flight, you may notice that most passengers are afraid to open the air vent of a flight.

Have you ever since thought about the reason? People think that getting air on a flight will make them sick or very cold. However, experts have come up with this kind of thinking that challenges our assumptions in the form of misconceptions.

Experts say that the air vent actually helps us to fight against infections that are associated with air travel.

Airborne viruses are transmitted by tiny droplet nuclei that tend to stay in the air for up to five hours. Because airplanes have low humidity, our mucous membranes can dry out on board, making us susceptible to contracting a virus.

How does the air vent help?

Aircraft cabins operate with a mixture of fresh outside air and filtered cabin air. The outside air is sterilized with a high-temperature compressor and an ozone purifier and is mixed with existing cabin air which is recirculated every 23 minutes through an industrial-grade HEPA filter.
